This vulnerable bird species is found in the dry woodland habitat of Capertee Valley in NSW. I wrote this article for Audiowings, Journal of the Australian Wildlife Sound Recording Group and it was published in June 2020. I also made a prepared audio piece of about 10 minutes, giving some examples of the calls of a nesting pair of Speckled Warblers and their young.
Photo on front cover of the Audiowings journal, showing female Speckled Warbler at the nest entrance, with a grasshopper in her beak ready to feed the nestlings.
